Head designer, Alfred Stadler, comes from the interior and furniture world and continues to engage in custom interiors as well as designing or upholstering furniture.

At a young age, Alfred was introduced to artisanal craftsmanship with a top saddle maker building custom saddles for Olympic dressage riders. Here he learned the qualities of fine leathers and wool felt as well as the techniques of molding and sewing these materials.

What followed was an impressive professional experience in Switzerland and North America. Alfred was a member of the DeSede design team. Later, he became head designer of Swiss Seats and built a new furniture collection. In working with the textile pioneer, Jack Lenor Larsen, Alfred designed and produced a modular area rug collection which met the needs for custom sizing demanded by architects and designers.

I recommend to all Alfred Stadler. his forte was originally international carpet but for years now Alfred has focused on luggage design and leather crafts - always at the top end, creative, and in superb taste.
—Jack Lenor Larsen

For Ruckstuhl, a high-end carpeting company, he worked extensively with felt and introduced the use of felt for interior applications for walls, ceilings and cabinet linings. Alfred later became Director of Vitra Home North America strengthening the company's presence and sales in the U.S.

As a proponent of heirloom and quality-made products, Alfred teaches leather craftsmanship classes where he shares his knowledge of leathers, textiles, specialized tools and stitching techniques. He also opens his studio to the public through private appointments or organized tours.
