Vegetable-tanned leather - 2 full hides
This rare Swan Chair from a first or earlier production (swivel base is cast in one piece of aluminum) arrived with considerable damage. As the interior shell was cracked, we added steel bands molded to the curves onto the frontside and backside for reinforcement. The upholstery needed to be totally replaced and sized. The vegetable-tanned leather was stretched and molded to have a smooth surface with no ruching or creasing. This chair was finished with hand-stitching which gives an intentional wave effect adding to the beauty of this chair and maintaining the integrity of the original design.
